Core Data Encryption

I've been asked a number of times about the best way to encrypt a Core Data persistent store. The answers I've had to give have always been somewhat kludgey at best. Apparently, with iOS 4, there's a better answer, and I was completely unaware of the change. If you're storing anything remotely secure in Core Data, it's worth a few minutes of your time to read Nick Harris' post.

Crypto Library

Jens Afke has published an alpha release of a new cryptography library for the iPhone and Mac OS X. The framework acts as a Cocoa/Cocoa Touch wrapper around Authentication Services (Keychain), Common Crypto, and CDA/CSSM. Sounds like a very cool project.

If you're comfortable with any of these technologies, it sounds like Jens could use additional eyes on, so be a sport and check it out.
